Rasing a Reader

Being a lover of books I want my son to feel the same about reading that did and still do.  Rasing a reader takes time and effort but you signed up for the job so now it is time to get to work.  When you have a little baby that doesn't care about what you read then read them whatever you are reading.  When my son was about 1month old I was reading the book Queen so I decided to read it to him.  So every night when I would pull my book out I would but little Daylan in the bed and read it to him out loud.  Although I know that he didnt know what I was talking about he was getting to see and hear me read.  As the months passed I started moving on to baby board books which now he will go get and sit and trun the pages and look at the pictures. 

First Birthday time

Is it that time....Babyz first birthday.  Well if so then we here at Kidz control are here to help.  I am currently planning my sons first birthday.  So I have scoured the web to find the best and affordable places to get first birthday gear.

Steps to planning a great party:

1. Start early- start about a month or two ahead of time just incase plans have to change.

2. Think of a theme- Find a centralized theme preferably something baby enjoys. My son loves animals so we are having a Safari Party.

3. Make a Budget and stick to it-  Make a budget so that you don't go overboard on babyz first birthday.  I personally made my budget $500 and looked for things that were affordable that kept me under my budget.

4. Guest List-  Make a guest list but keep in mind your budget because you are going to have to have enough cake for everyone and food if you plan on feeding your guest.  My current guest list is about 32 people.

5. Pick out your cake and food-  Custom cakes are a nice touch and if you find the right bakery you can get them a pretty affordable rate.  When thinking of food. Keep baby in mind and have a baby friendly menu.  Hot dogs and hamburgers are cheap and easy for you and baby.

6. Party!Party!Party!-  Well its time to party all the decorations are and the guest have arrived.  Now pull out your camera's and take lots of pictures so that you and your child can have memories of this day forever.
